'WILDLIFE IN MY GARDEN'

POND LIFE       INSECTS       CREATURES      BIRDS      FLOWERS/PLANTS     MAIL ME

I do hope you enjoy the following web pages that I have created, of the wildlife that inhabit my garden. Also of the flowers and plants that I have grown to encourage this.

As a keen gardener I started to photograph flowers. It came about after I began using the digital camera, which I had as a present. I then began to notice the wonderful wildlife that also inhabited the garden. So many different types. Many of them you will recognise. It was, however, the variety of a species that I also noticed, for instance the bee. At one time I counted four different types on one plant.

I was amazed at how beautiful all the creatures were, even the flies in their own way. Nature is a wonderful thing, when you see the creation of patterns on the various creatures, and wonderful colouring that they have.

The page I have called Creatures also covers Spiders. Now I like spiders, they fascinate me with their wonderful web creations! Also here I have noticed how different spiders create various types of webs. Some smothering the thick hedge like a lace curtain and hiding in a funnel from which they run out to catch their prey, while others weave a web that is circular and strung from one plant to another, sometime stretching over a large area.

Pond Life is self explanatory, but even here, I see a lot of activity going on. To see the newts come up to take a pellet of fish food and 'down it in one gulp' before the fish gets a chance!

Various birds visit my garden, particularly in the spring as you will see from the many pictures I have taken. I encourage them into my garden by providing water for them to drink and bathe in, also with continual food supplied in the bird feeder. I love watching their antics especially when the young are about.

I have now added a section on the flowers and plants that I grow. All attract some form of wild life.

For personal use please feel free to save, copy or print any of the pictures, to do this right click on the required photograph. I also enjoy making my own personalised cards and have used some of the photographs to insert as a picture (maybe not the snails!!)

Should you wish to use any of the pictures to put into a publication please could you credit them to my URL.

Thank you for visiting my Web Site.
